Good morning all,
HB 53 which is the raising the age bill will be heard next week. HB 53 proposes raising the age of majority to 17 for juveniles. There will be a significant impact to our department if this occurs. I too encourage everyone to register your opinion electronically.
Here is the link to set up your profile. https://www.mytxlegis.legis.state.tx.us/hwrspublic/CreateAccount.aspx
Once you set it up you can go to the committee hearings page (You may have to wait until the day of the hearing) and register in favor, on or opposed to the bill. The more people that do this the better because you know the advocates will be there in force to testify verbally. The 17 year old bill HB 53 is rumored to be on committee on April 1.
