Reading was meant to open up a whole world inside a child’s mind.

The visual mind is natural. Children imagine. They picture. They wonder. They enter worlds we cannot see. A cardboard box becomes a castle. A backyard becomes a kingdom. A story becomes something they can almost step inside.

Let’s nurture that.

Instead of making the words themselves the first priority, let’s strengthen the mind that gives those words meaning.

Let them see the enchanted forest.
Let them journey to the faraway kingdom.
Let the characters become real in their imagination.
Let them wonder what happens next.

Because we don’t just want children who learn to read.

We want children who live to read.

Children who reach for books because something wonderful happens when they open them.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing more about what it looks like to learn to read with the visual mind leading the way.

This is how we teach our children at Fresh Fire Christian Academy.

Iconix Learning Method is the neuroscience-backed approach we use everyday in the classroom that works with the way the brain naturally develops, processes, connects, and remembers.

There’s still time to enroll! FFCA’s first day of school is August 31st!

At Fresh Fire Christian Academy, education is about so much more than academics. Our students experience the presence of the Lord daily through worship, prayer, and biblical discipleship while learning through the neuroscience-backed Iconix Learning Method, designed to help children learn the way God created their brains to develop.

With on-site clinicians, individualized support, and a whole-child approach to education, we are committed to helping every student thrive spiritually, academically, and personally.

Kinda chic to believe school can look different.

That children can know Jesus deeply, think critically, move their bodies, get their hands dirty, memorize Scripture, create beautiful things, ask big questions, spend time outside, and actually enjoy learning.

Kinda chic to care about who they’re becoming just as much as what they know.

We’re not interested in rushing childhood or reducing education to grades and test scores. We want to form whole children: heart, mind, body, and spirit, who know what they believe, know how to think, and know Who they belong to.

Maybe different is exactly what education needs.

☀️ 20×20 Steel Lunch Pavilion – $2,600
Providing shade so students can enjoy lunch outdoors.

🏀 Full-Size Basketball Goal – $2,500 installed
(upper class outdoor area).

⚽ Gaga Pit – $1,300

🌿 10×20 Steel Pavilion – $2,200 installed
