LCU Global Campus and LCU Cheer traveled with Olive Branch Ministries to Ventanilla, Perú during the first week of July to help teach a VBS at the Comunidad Cristiana Sagrada Familia, a school and residence for children.
While there were many activities we participated in--teaching, praise and worship, art and crafts, playing in an annual Americans vs. Peruvians soccer match--the biggest blessing was the opportunity to encourage and love those children in the name of Jesus. And what better group of people to encourage others than cheerleaders! (They did an awesome job!)
Our hope is that this is just one of a growing number of opportunities for Service Learning trips for our students, in addition to the other study abroad travels we offer.
