De. Jacob Bellโ€™s Vikings class had the opportunity to visit the Southwest Collections to explore their fascinating collection of medieval manuscripts. From centuries-old texts to beautifully detailed illustrations, students were able to get a closer look at the history, culture, and storytelling traditions that shaped the medieval world.
Experiences like this bring history beyond the classroom and allow students to connect with the past in a tangible and meaningful way. A huge thank you to the Southwest Collection staff for sharing their knowledge and preserving these incredible pieces of history for future generations. โš”๏ธ๐Ÿ“œ

Our very own Dr. Miguel Levario takes the stage to share his talk, โ€œNi de aquรญ, ni de allรก/Not from Here or There: To Be in the Borderlands.โ€

What does it mean to belong everywhere and nowhere at once? In this talk, Dr. Miguel Levario draws on the lived experience of the US-Mexico borderlands to explore what it means to exist between identities, cultures, and worlds โ€” and how that disorienting in-between space can become an unexpected source of perspective, resilience, and creativity.

Dr. Miguel Levario is an Associate Professor of Borderland Studies at Texas Tech University, where his scholarship examines the history, culture, and human experience of the US-Mexico borderlands. His work gives academic depth to questions that are urgently personal for millions of people navigating life between worlds.
