Under the leadership of Dr. Sarah McKoin, Dr. Eric Allen and Dr. Joel Pagan. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Texas Tech University band website. Go Tech!

We are housed in the School of Music within the College of Visual and Performing Arts and boast over 600 students participating in any number of concert or athletic bands during the year. I invite you to take your time, browse, and get to know us while considering the possibilities of becoming a part of the rich heritage of excellence in the Texas Tech Band family. Applications are now open for the 2026 Texas Tech University Conducting Workshop. This year's workshop features Director of Bands, Dr. Sarah McKoin, and our guest clinician, Director of Wind Ensemble Activities, The Hal J. Gibson Chair in Conducting, Dr. Jamie L. Nix. Application window will close Friday, November 7, 2025 with notification of acceptance in mid-November. There are a limited number of conductor spots and an unlimited number of auditors. The Concert Band presents their final concert of the season on Monday, April 28 at 7:30PM. The Latin-inspired performance includes selections by José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, Giovanni Santos, Michele Fernández, Frank Ticheli, and Alfred Reed. Livestream link in the comments.

Join us at 7:30 pm on Sunday April 13th in Hemmle Recital Hall for the final Symphonic Wind Ensemble concert of the semester as we play Urban Lights by James David, Plan & Elevation by Caroline Shaw, and Pini di Roma by Ottorino Respighi! We hope to see you there!

Join the Concert Band on Sunday, March 9 at 7:30pm in Hemmle Recital Hall as they present their French-inspired second concert of the semester. Works include Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saëns, French Impressions by Woolfenden, D'un soire triste by Boulanger, and Paris Sketches by Ellerby.
