Today I met a guy who built one of the most incredible machines I've ever witnessed. This car is an old Toyota Corona AKA the Corona Virus. The engine is a 900 horsepower small block Chevy with a 671 GM blower and nitrous. Most every possible option you can imagine on a $25,000 engine. If dangerous, fast, and scary were a picture, this is it!

We recently received a donation from a kind lady who's son was a graduate of SPC and had passed away. She not only donated his Ford F150, but also an entire assortment of tools that we gave to the Auto Service graduating class. They were each assigned numbers and were able to pick one item at a time. These were some happy students!

We're in the process of building a three-phase hybrid motor trainer. The rig will be hand driven by a hand crank and a Chevy LS timing gear setup. Stay tuned for more!

The Jaguar engine is back together again!

This Jaguar will never survive the abuse it endured from overheating, but the crew did a wonderful job of disassembly, diagnostics, and reassembly.

Several years ago this Jaguar engine, made by Ford, was donated to our school. I never got around to opening it up until this semester. Supposedly it was being driven by a salesman at Mercedes when it overheated. The salesman drove the engine until it quit running and melted down.I think we found the culprit in the valley where a plastic water housing is broken and melted. The week after spring break we should have it completely torn apart.

Today we diagnosed and repaired a student vehicle that had been to multiple mechanics with no diagnosis. The car had a series of computer faults that resulted in a class 2 communication failure with the engine control module. The car would not crank, no gauges working on the right side, and the PRNDL indicator doesn't work. After roughly an hour of testing and help from ChatGtp, we narrowed the problem down to a harness issue below the ECM. The student has been fighting this problem for months and stated that tomorrow is his birthday and this is going to be an excellent present. The entire class was excited! Good stuff!
