When patients, students, and employees approach the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) regional campus in Amarillo, one of the first things they see is a statue of a sleek, black horse with a Double-T emblazoned on its hindquarters. Named "Pride of the Masked Rider," the TTUHSC horse is one of more than 100 similar statues scattered across the city as part of Center City of Amarillo’s “Hoof Prints of the American Quarter Horse” public art project.

Happy National Nurses Week! To celebrate, we decided to highlight one of our National Advisory Board Members and Lubbock Nurse, Kylee Marcus! We asked Kylee a few questions about being a nurse and her time here at TTUHSC, and this is what she told us.
What is your favorite part of being a nurse?
Building connections and relationships with my patients and their family members!
Do you have any advice for current nursing students?
Study hard, be prepared, and remember to celebrate the wins!
What was the best part of TTUHSC?
The faculty and my cohort!! The faculty members are incredible, and they go above and beyond to make sure you are succeeding! Not just with school, but in your personal life. They care to get to know you and go the extra mile for you in everything! Some of your biggest cheerleaders are in such a fast-paced and challenging environment!
Thank you, Kylee, and thank you to all of our Nursing Alumni! You exemplify what it means to be the Future of Health!
