June 24-28 on the Texas Tech University campus.

This is an immersive college experience in the Fine Arts where students will experience first-hand what it means to be a Red Raider studying the Fine Arts. Students will have opportunities to learn new art making techniques through multiple mediums, taught by talented TTU artists.

Opening in two days at the Museum of Texas Tech University!

On March 23, the exhibition Animation as Art: A Multi-sensory Experience will open at The Texas Tech Museum and we hope you will join us!

The exhibition gathers the work of more than 30 national and international animators and showcases animation as a contemporary artistic medium that—beyond its concern with movement and time— reflects on the nature of objects, new approaches to materiality, and spectators’ multi-sensory, embodied experience.

Co-curated by two TTU faculty from the School of Art, Talkington College of Visual and Performing Art: Drs. Jorgelina Orfila, (Art History) and Francisco Ortega (Graphic Design) together with Dr. Christine Veras, (Assistant Professor of Animation and Director of the experimenta.l. lab at UT Dallas) this will be the first exhibition on animation showcased at the TTU Museum.

Support for the exhibition comes from the Society of Animation Studies, the School of Art at TTU, the Harry W. Ryla T. & John F. Lott Endowment for Excellence in the Visual Arts, administered through the TTU School of Art.

Soprano, Nicole Leupp Hanig has appeared as a soloist with the Jussi Björling Festival in Sweden, the Maggio Musicale Festival in Italy, the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, and Atelier Lyrique in France. She currently serves as the Program Director of Music and Director of Vocal Studies at University of Portland.

Tonight, Texas Tech University will be performing in the finals of the National Trumpet Competition for the first time in school history! The Trumpet Ensemble will be playing an arrangement of Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’ by trumpet studio member Andrew Schofield.

The National Trumpet Competition hosts over 1000 students from 36 different states and TTU’s ensemble was one of three large ensembles selected to compete in the final round. We are so proud of our Red Raider trumpets!
