A one day retreat at Texas Tech University in Lubbock where MS and HS students could explore STEM through coding. Students programed the Sphero device to navigate through several different mazes.

Come join Discovery Retreat, a place for students, of both oral and signing backgrounds, to interact
Discovery Retreats focus on developing leadership skills and promoting open-minded attitudes towards all types of communication. Activities will include skits, ROPES course, team building activities, and more. CART (captioning), oral, and sign language interpreters will be provided for large group activities. Discovery Retreats are coordinated by the Educational Resource Center on Deafness at Texas School for the Deaf and are held at Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children in Killeen, Texas.

Thanks to the crazy schedule, we had an early breakfast today then we got right back to business. More drone coding. More Sphereo coding. Things are looking pretty exciting over here. Make sure you watch out and duck when those drones and spheroes come close!

We also heard from Mr. Paul Stropko, Mr. Bill Huber, and Mr. Ken Brown about their college and work experiences. We are so lucky to have these opportunities to meet and talk with deaf/hard of hearing professionals.

Our keynote presenter was Ms. Jo Bempong. She works for Texas Instrument as a software engineer. Our students had so many questions for her!
