Covenant School of Surgical Technology Graduates First day of class for 2015 is July 7, 2014. Complete enrollment deadline is April 15, 2014. The program complies with the 6th Ed.

of the Core Curriculum of AST, Inc. Term One is a combination of didactic which is delivered by PowerPoint, lecture, guest speakers and hands-on demonstrations. The didactic sessions include Law and Ethics, Principles of Aseptic and Sterile technique, along with Basic Anatomy and Physiology. The lab instruction is delivered in one of two fully-functional operating rooms. The students will learn to

scrub, gown, glove and set up back tables and mayos, and pass surgical instruments for the different surgeries in the following specialties; General, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Urology, Neurosurgery, OB/ GYN, Plastics and Reconstructive, ENT. The students will have access to a full range of instruments, equipment, i.e. lasers, robots, microscopes and will have opportunities to shadow different personnel in the ORs while still in the program. Term Two is a varied externship in the local facilities;
Covenant Medical Center will provide the student experience in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Genitourinary, Neurosurgery, Robotic Surgery and Peripheral Vascular surgical procedures. A rotation through Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Endoscopy will be completed at this site
Covenant Women and Children including Labor and Delivery will provide experience in Gynecology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Cardiovascular surgery, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Pediatric Neurosurgery; in Labor and Delivery the student will experience both vaginal and caesarian section births and other procedures. The student will complete a rotation in the instrument room. The Covenant SurgiCenter experience will provided Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Otorhinolarynology, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery, Ophthalmic Surgery, and Pain management. University Medical Center will expose the student to Burn treatment and management, Cardiovascular, along with many of the previously listed surgical specialties.

The Covenant School of Surgical Technology will officially close its doors on July 1. Many thanks to all the individuals that attended and supported the school in its 10 years of operation. This page will be taken down on July 4.

On the eve of Surgical Technology Week, Covenant School of
Surgical Technology recognizes CSTs, CFAs, STs, SFAs that work from the beginning to the conclusion of every surgical procedure. Remember that CSTs' great work isn't noted in the moment, it's acknowledged when the surgeon calls for YOU! Congratulations!!

Covenant School of Surgical Technology would like to extend a great big welcome to CSOST Class of 2016. Class of 2016 is the tenth class to start since the inception of the school. The students will finish orientation tomorrow and begin their studies toward graduation (June 10, 2016) and becoming CSTs. Good luck to all students.
