Over the next 2 weeks we will be introducing our 2026-2027 District Council Officer Candidates!
Candidate number 17 is Kannon Flowers!
Why do you want to serve on D2 council?
"District 2 has been a huge part of my 4-H career for the past 9 years, and I want to give back and show the younger members how important it is to grow in leadership. I have served my club and county in many roles and feel that growing the district level is my next step. Serving at the district or state level would allow me to share my love for 4-H and what it has meant to me with others and to help continue building the program."

Why do you want to serve on D2 council?
"I want to be a District 2 Council member because I want to grow as a leader while giving back to the program that has helped shape me. 4-H has given me countless opportunities to learn, serve, and connect with others, and being on District Council would allow me to take that involvement to the next level. As a council member, I would have the opportunity to represent my peers, serve as a positive role model, and help plan and lead activities that impact youth across the district. I also enjoy working with others, sharing ideas, and contributing to something bigger than myself."

Why do you want to serve on D2 council?
"The District 4-H Council is a team that inspires members across the area through service and leadership. This group of students is visible at competitions, meetings, and State 4-H Roundup, and they serve alongside agents to promote 4-H excellence. I have observed multiple District Councils and the work they do to promote 4-H and the opportunities it offers. I want to be involved in the 4-H organization at a higher level so I can make a greater impact."

Why do you want to serve on D2 council?
"I want to serve as a District 2 4-H Council Member because the leaders before me shaped the path that I now walk. I am not content to stand idly by in the face of that service. Every contest, camp, and meeting I've attended here in District Two was shaped by those leaders that decided to show up, not because their roles were easy, but because they cared. Impressed and fashioned by that care, I stand eager to make a similar difference, to be a similar presence."

Leadership is not something we wait to grow into, it is something we practice every day through our actions, our character, and the way we treat others."
