TTU School of Law Clinical Programs

Faculty, staff, and students joined together to celebrate Professor Larry Spain's retirement, honoring his 25 years of service to Texas Tech Law. Under his leadership, the Clinical Programs grew significantly, from 2 clinics to 9. Between his work in the clinics, and his commitment to Pro Bono, we were grateful to have shared him with his family. Best wishes to Professor Spain!

With a productive week of court and clinic work under their belts, Clinical Program students are set for a rejuvenating Spring Break next week.

The TTU Clinical Programs is delighted to welcome Mitchell Williams as our newest attorney, serving as Assistant Public Defender for the Caprock clinic. Welcome aboard Mitch!!!

National Pro Bono week gives us the opportunity to celebrate the impact of pro bono service and the power of volunteers to come together to tackle tough challenges, both of which help build stronger, more resilient communities. Legal Aid is grateful for the help our firm and clients receive from pro bono volunteers, who include law students, paralegals, and attorneys. In that spirit, many of our offices are hosting events or scheduling celebrations to honor their volunteers. Check us out next week as we highlight a few of these celebrations. And to our many, many volunteers: Thank You!

Texas Tech Law graduates achieved a 95.97% first-time pass rate on the July 2025 Texas Bar Exam!

Only one month into the semester, and the Clinical Programs students are hard at work meeting with clients and appearing in court.

A special thanks to Professor Daniel Caudillo for opening his lecture on Understanding Vicarious Trauma & Practicing Self-Care-Care to all the clinics students. And a special shout out to Dr. Gregory D Johnston with the TTU Student Counseling Center for coming by and giving some helpful tips and strategies.
