Tomorrow is the day! Come join our team!

Calling all middle schoolers interested in joining LISD swimming and diving. It’s tryout week!!

We will be hosting tryouts August 20th from 5:30-6:30pm.

Whether you have a swimming and diving experience or you're just looking to try something new we would love to have you come out and give it a try.

We encourage all athletes to try out for both swimming and diving.

**Must have a current physical to tryout

Please help us welcome Victoria Arroyos Hernandez to the Lubbock ISD Swimming & Diving family!

A proud Lubbock native, Victoria swam for both Hutchinson Middle School and Lubbock High School before continuing her education at Texas Tech University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. She plans to further her education in healthcare with the goal of becoming a physical therapist.

Returning to the program that helped shape her as a student-athlete is a full-circle moment. Victoria is excited to bring a fresh perspective to Lubbock ISD Swimming & Diving and is passionate about helping every swimmer reach their full potential both in and out of the pool. Inspired by the coaches who made a lasting impact on her own journey, Victoria hopes to encourage, support, and positively influence the next generation of LISD swimmers.

We're excited to have Victoria on our coaching staff and can't wait to see the impact she'll make this season.

Please help us in welcoming Nathan Roman to the Lubbock ISD Swimming & Diving coaching staff!

Coach Roman is a proud graduate of Coronado High School and a former Lubbock ISD swimmer, where he spent four years in the program after beginning his career on the JV team. He also trained with Lubbock Swim Club before continuing his swimming career at Wayland Baptist University.

With more than eight years of club coaching experience—including most recently with Lubbock Swim Club—and as a current CTE Computer Science teacher for Lubbock ISD, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for developing student-athletes.

"I started my swimming career right where these athletes are now, and it's a privilege to come back and lead the JV program that helped shape who I am. My goal is to build on that legacy by building a team culture centered on discipline, perseverance, and genuine support for one another. I can't wait to get started and be part of the Lubbock ISD Swim & Dive family!"

Please join us in welcoming Coach Cash Coats to our program! 🏊‍♂️🐊

Cash is originally from Andrews, Texas, where he helped coach club swimming for three years. He attended the University of Texas Permian Basin and previously swam for Centenary College of Louisiana before returning home to complete his degree.

“I am very excited to have this opportunity to coach. I look forward to helping develop our swimmers and investing in their lives both in and out of the pool. I firmly believe the lessons learned through swimming apply just as much to life as they do to the sport. I’m excited to get started and be a part of the Lubbock ISD Swim & Dive family!”
