Building strong study habits can make all the difference when preparing for final exams. Here are a few tips to help get you through the end of term.

Stay consistent by choosing a set time and place to study each day. This will turn studying into a routine.
Use the Pomodoro Method by working in 25-minute intervals, followed by a 5-minute break.
Make a realistic to-do list by breaking assignments down into smaller, manageable tasks.
When highlighting, remember less is more. Focus on key concepts or main ideas.
Don’t skip breaks. Stepping away, even for a few minutes, can improve focus and boost productivity.
Quiz yourself instead of just rereading your notes.

Congratulations to Chris Cook on his retirement after 27 years with Texas Tech! Throughout his time here, Chris brought a wealth of experience and connections that have made a lasting impact on the department and the college.

Looking back on his time, Chris Cook shared, “The most rewarding moments of my 27 years at Texas Tech have been spent in the classroom and meeting with students. There is no greater honor on a college campus than a student seeking your advice because they see value in something you might say. Just as rewarding is watching students’ progress throughout their careers. We have graduates out there doing some amazing work. It’s truly been a humbling experience and my privilege to serve on the PR faculty.”

Please join us in congratulating Chris Cook on his well-earned retirement!
