Amazing truths!

Consider these two verses carefully and apply them well. Read them in their context.

“Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” Hebrews 2:1

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified. But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.” 2 Corinthians 13:5

Bible Study, avoid speculation.

There is much religious division in the world today. Much of this division is caused by the speculation of people reading scripture. And, those who are held up as 'Bible scholars' can be among the most speculative people.

"What did Paul think when he said...?" If his thoughts are not revealed in Scripture, we do not know. Why spend time and effort seeking an answer which is not provided. Do note that what Paul spoke and wrote he was speaking by inspiration, God was speaking through him (1 Corinthians 14:37; Galatians 1:6-12).

"What did God think about...?" "Why did God do that, or allow that?" Unless God reveals His own thoughts we cannot know. Do realize that God may express thoughts on a matter in a different text of Scripture. That is a valid presentation of truth, but always give the Scripture reference when giving that thought. Just do not press what is written to mean something which is not revealed. Read 1 Corinthians 2:10-11). And remember that our thoughts are not God's thoughts (see Isaiah 55:8-9).

I encourage you to ask for the Biblical reference for each point made by a teacher, preacher and friend. Be respectful, be kind, but be insistent. If the person is speculating, ask the person to not speculate on matters but to simply speak what the text reveals. This will help us to focus on truth rather than opinion.

Growing in our understanding.

The Body of Christ

The New Testament speaks of the church being the body of Christ. As a beginning point, consider what Paul said about the body in the letter to the Ephesians.

Look up each of the following and write down what is said about the body of Christ.

Ephesians 1:23
Ephesians 2:16
Ephesians 3:6
Ephesians 4:4
Ephesians 4:12
Ephesians 4:16
Ephesians 5:23
Ephesians 5:30

Read each verse in its context, verses before and after it to get a clear understanding of the specific verse.

This is a good beginning. After you do this find all other passages in the New Testament for a greater understanding.

The Age of Inspiration Has Passed 02/17/2026

This video covers what the New Testament says about inspiration and all the unique spiritual gifts we read about in the New Testament.

The Age of Inspiration Has Passed Consider carefully what the Bible says about inspiration and when it ceased.
