"Good morning,

My name is Dr. Natalie Delgado, and I serve as the Executive Director of the Louisiana School for the Deaf, a bilingual school that values both American Sign Language and English. I am reaching out in hopes that you will share our job and internship opportunities with your students and recent alumni as we begin hiring for the 2026–2027 school year. Please feel free to forward this message to others who may benefit from this information.

On the link below, you will find a variety of available positions, including teachers, paraeducators, substitute teachers, and other support roles. Our instructional positions serve students from PreK through 12th grade, depending on the role.

Student teachers who are willing to teach full-time for the school year may be eligible to receive full-time teacher pay, depending on the criteria they meet.

Our school is proudly located in the capital city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. With a low cost of living, incredible food, rich culture, and Southern hospitality, Baton Rouge is a wonderful place to live and work. We would love to see some of your students or alumni apply and connect with our community.

You can find all of our job postings and descriptions here: https://www.ssdofla.org/page/careers

Please note:
β€’ Educational interpreting positions are not currently posted. Interested candidates or interns should contact our Interpreting Coordinator, Heather Covington, at [email protected].
β€’ We are also anticipating a potential early Intervention outreach teacher position in North Louisiana. Those interested can contact Ivette Perez at [email protected].

If you or your students have any questions or would like to learn more about Louisiana School for the Deaf, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you for helping us connect with the next generation of professionals in deaf education.
