1pm UPDATE: Come and Get 'em!
Tomatoes multiple of (beefsteak, cherokee purple, cream sausage, black krim and 4th of July)
Peppers mild (bell pepper and banana pepper) and hot (Anaheim, ghost, habanero, pablano)
Egg plant
Flowers - several 4 packs left - mostly annuals
Limited supply of cantalope, watermelon, yellow crookneck squash, cucumber, pumkin and gourd
Cool season - few broccoli and green cabbage
Herbs - basil and mint
Small flower baskets

Plant Sale TODAY 8am - 4pm or until supplies last.

Every month in the spring, students enjoy an incentive day where we take a break from all the hard work. In April, students enjoyed making one of their favorite recipes, Dandy Donuts!
Here's the recipe if you want to try and make them at home.

Dandy Donuts
4 C fresh picked (washed) dandelion flowers
Batter:
2 cups flour
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1 tsp salt
For sweet fritters: 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
For Savory fritters: 1 tbsp of herbs
Mix the milk, flour and eggs and beat until well blended, should be the consistency of pancake batter. Heat some oil (olive oil or vegetable oil) on the stove (keep at medium heat). Holding the stem, dip the flower/blossom into the batter until totally covered and place into skillet flower-side down. Once browned, flip and brown the other side. Remove from oil and allow excess oil to soak on a paper towel

Eat plain (savory fritter) or drizzle with maple syrup, honey or even roll them in powdered sugar (favored by most students).

This is an extra versatile recipe if you're gluten free (use almond, coconut, or potato flour) or dairy free (use coconut milk)

Spring has sprung! Lots of learning in the garden. Students have been engaged in making soil, planting seeds in the ground and with soil blocks, seeking out garden critters, presenting to their classmates and nature journaling.

March welcomed students back to the garden. We spent a lot of time discussing seeds, sorting them, planting them and watching them grow! We have sprouts coming up outside and cool season starts in the greenhouse ready to go in the ground when students get back from Spring Break. Its been a busy end of winter and beginning of Spring!
Students earned their first incentive this spring with a student favorite, Dirt Cups!
