Learning About Sound Waves! 🔊🌊

Ms. Steele’s 4th grade scientists got hands-on today as they explored the fascinating world of sound waves! 🎶

Students used yarn to create their own wave models and practiced identifying crests and troughs while measuring amplitude. 📏〰️ They were able to see how changes in a wave’s height can help us understand the energy of a sound wave.

Science is always more meaningful when we can see it, build it, and experience it! 💙🧪

We are beginning to see damage to our new gym floor from footwear that is not appropriate for PE.

Since students have PE every day, please make sure your child has athletic/tennis shoes available for PE each day.

Building number sense, one bead at a time! 🔢❤️

Our Math Coach, Mrs. Hammac, led Mrs. Monk’s first graders through creating their very own beaded number lines to 100 for their math toolkits!

As students built their number lines bead by bead, they were also building number sense and creating a hands-on tool they’ll be able to use throughout the year for counting, addition, subtraction, and more.

Learning it. Building it. Using it. That’s math that sticks! 🐻💛

New Car Line Procedures!!

We know today was not good during dismissal. We have reflected and made some changes to morning and afternoon car line. Please watch the videos below for more information.
