Internal parasite pressure is one of the most challenging and financially impactful issues facing sheep and goat producers in New York State. Every flock and herd carries some level of infection, making integrated pest management (IPM) essential to enterprise viability — including f***l egg count reduction testing (FECRT), FAMACHA© and 5-Point Check© scoring, strategic dewormer use, and pasture rotation.

Join Cornell PRO-LIVESTOCK's Small Ruminant Specialist Jess Waltemyer and CCE Livestock Specialist Amy Barkley for a free webinar on how IPM strategies can protect your operation's bottom line. The session will also present findings from one-on-one, whole-farm evaluations conducted in 2025 on 10 farms across the region, which assessed internal parasite burdens and dewormer resistance in their sheep and goats.

The webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 8th from 6pm – 7:30pm. It will be shared over Zoom and is free to attend. This position will serve as the Finance Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Lewis County and will provide administrative direction, management and coordination for all Finance functions for the Lewis County Extension office. This position performs a moderate amount of highly complex tasks to support the Association, within the Finance area. This position will work closely with the SBN Finance Lead to ensure that all best practice recommendations are implemented in accordance with established timeframes. This position will reach out to the SBN Finance Lead for assistance and troubleshooting, as needed. This position will perform job duties with a high level of initiative and discretion, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. This position will also provide high level support to the Board of Directors and the Executive Director in the Finance area as identified. This position will create and monitor Finance reports that may be sensitive in nature and related to established policies and procedures in support of the Association.
