"Hello everyone, my name is Nadine Uwase and I am sophomore Business major. The main reason why I wanted to become an orientation leader was because of the great experience and time my orientation leader gave me during my time. I cherished the time and fun I had at my orientation, so I decided to join the group and provide the same experience. Being an orientation leader was one of the best decisions I made so far. It not only provided me with the experience of working with others, but also gave me the chance to make long lasting relationships. The satisfaction and joy I got from making at least one student’s day is a feeling that I will always look for in any job or career I get involved in. I am grateful to the opportunity of being an orientation leader, and I hope you all go for this opportunity! "

"When I had applied to be an Orientation Leader I was coming out of a rough patch in my life. When I was hired, it was the first time in a while I had felt successful, like I had finally achieved something. That success helped me throughout the summer and helped me grow into a more confident person which continues to help me daily. I became more comfortable working in groups and leading groups of people. I helped develop a leadership style that is unique to me and my own strengths. I have since carried on those skills to my other jobs and activities on campus. I have been promoted to a shift supervisor with Transportation Services and will continue to use the skills I have developed as an Orientation Leader with that, as well as any future jobs. The biggest takeaway from working as an Orientation Leader is that it will help build confidence and give you great professional development skills."
