Current PhD student, Jinseok Lee (faculty mentor: Rudy Valentine), delivered a poster presentation entitled: "Alcohol Consumption during Muscle Disuse Causes Differential Signaling Responses by Muscle Fiber Type in Mice". We’re proud to celebrate a major milestone for the Exercise Science program at University of Massachusetts Lowell. It is now accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES).

This achievement reflects the dedication of our faculty, staff, adminsitration, students, alumni, and stakeholders who continue to prepare future leaders in health, fitness, and clinical exercise science.

Importantly, this accreditation ensures that UMass Lowell graduates remain eligible to sit for ACSM certification exams beyond 2027 — helping provide a direct pathway to nationally recognized professional credentials.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this accomplishment and to the continued excellence of the program!
