Financial Literacy Comes to the STEM Academy!
The STEM Academy recently welcomed representatives from LPS community partner, Align Credit Union, to work with our 7th grade students. The morning featured engaging financial literacy programming that combined learning with fun through interactive games, activities, and BINGO.
As one of Lowell's Community Schools, partnerships like this help us extend learning beyond the classroom and provide students with valuable real-world skills. Financial literacy is an important part of preparing our Sharks for future success, and opportunities like these make learning both meaningful and memorable.
A special thank you to Jennifer Souza and Anna Pellerin from Align Credit Union for spending the morning with our students and helping them build a stronger understanding of saving, spending, and making smart financial decisions. Our Sharks had a great time, enjoyed the activities, and walked away with valuable lessons they can use for years to come! πŸ¦ˆπŸ’™πŸ’›

Career Day at STEM Academy!!

On Thursday, June 11, the STEM Academy welcomed several local professionals to campus as part of our annual Career Day program. As one of Lowell's Community Schools, we are committed to connecting students with meaningful real-world learning experiences and community partners that help expand opportunities beyond the classroom.
We were grateful to host Nehemiah Carter of the Dracut Fire Department, Liz Stone from Middlesex Community College's Dental Hygiene Department, Molly Hancock of the Pollard Memorial Library, and School Resource Officer Nicole Munera of the Lowell Police Department.
Throughout the morning, our Sharks had the opportunity to learn about a variety of career paths, hear firsthand experiences from professionals in the field, and ask thoughtful questions about each occupation. The enthusiasm and curiosity displayed by our students made for an engaging and memorable experience.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Sneha Patel and Shamir Rivera-Quintal of Project Learn for their assistance in coordinating these valuable visits. Partnerships like these are an important part of the Community Schools model and help expose our students to the many possibilities that await them in the future.
Thank you to all of our guests for taking the time to inspire our students and help them explore future career possibilities!

Congratulations to our Girls on the Run team for completing the 5K! Despite the rain and wild weather conditions, the girls showed incredible determination, perseverance, and teamwork. Crossing the finish line was a huge accomplishment and a testament to all of their hard work throughout the season. We are so proud of their positive attitudes, strength, and commitment. It was a challenging day, but a tremendous success for everyone involved!

On Wednesday, June 3rd, STEM Academy students in Grades 3 and 6 enjoyed an unforgettable day at the ballpark as they attended the annual Education Day game hosted by the Nashua Silver Knights at Holman Stadium.

Thanks to our Community Schools Program, students were able to take part in this enriching experience alongside nearly 3,000 students from schools across the region. Creating meaningful, engaging learning opportunities beyond the classroom is a key pillar of the Community Schools model, and this trip was a perfect example of that mission in action.

Students earned this opportunity through their hard work and success in Physical Education throughout the school year, making the day even more special. Many students remarked that it was their very first baseball game, and they had an absolute blast cheering on the action, enjoying the ballpark atmosphere, and creating memories with their classmates.

The Silver Knights compete in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League, featuring talented college players from across New England and beyond.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Nashua Silver Knights organization for hosting such an incredible event and providing our Sharks with a memorable day filled with learning, teamwork, and fun. 🦈⚾
