Recent Legislation Pushes Indiana Schools Into a Financial Crisis, Tri-Creek Schools is No Exception
December 12, 2025—Sounding the Alarm. Indiana’s Senate Enrolled Act 1, passed in April 2025, will cost Tri-Creek Schools $1.8 million starting June 2026. A new residential TIF district in Lowell is also diverting property tax dollars away from Tri-Creek Schools, worsening the impact every year.
After the 2023 referendum failed, Tri-Creek cut $1.5 million by reducing staff, reorganizing jobs, and limiting resources—bringing operations to the bare minimum needed to provide quality education. Public school funding is now split with charter and private schools, stretching resources even thinner.
Tri-Creek is committed to transparency and will soon share plans and ways for the community to get involved. It is a shared responsibility to protect the quality of our local schools.
