💜 SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL SU***DE PREVENTION & AWARENESS MONTH 💜
September is an important time to raise awareness about su***de prevention, mental health, and the resources available to support those who may be struggling.
Our community has experienced tragic losses over the years. As a school district, we remain committed to approaching these difficult situations with empathy, compassion, and care, always keeping the well-being and safety of our students at the forefront of our efforts.
🧡 Signs of Su***de Education Days
📅 September 21 & 22
📍 Middle & High School
During our annual Signs of Su***de Education Days, our school counselors will provide students with an hour-long educational lesson focused on recognizing signs and symptoms of su***de and mental health challenges, understanding when someone may need help, and learning how to reach out for support.
At the conclusion of the lesson, students will have an opportunity to request a meeting with a therapist or privately share concerns they may have about a friend or peer.
We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Rural Clinics therapists, who assist us in meeting with students identified as needing additional support. When appropriate, students are then connected with supportive services and additional resources.
This important work is just one of the many ways our school district remains committed to su***de prevention, mental health awareness, and student safety.
We are deeply thankful to our counselors, therapists, staff, families, and community partners for their continued dedication to supporting our students. Together, we can remind every student that asking for help is a sign of strength and that support is available.
💜 If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available.
