Once again the poles have been vandalized at Eastside Christian Church…… in the summer two teens were observed doing it and their license plates reported to Miami Township…… they probably used them to practice for their driving test…. which makes this so sad for the teens who need to practice for their test. Sometime this week we will clean up the mess of broken pole pieces and put poles back up…… and ask MTPD to do more patrolling.

Drive With Pride will be having a 24 hour in class session. We have had several requests as some parents want classroom rather than Online.
The dates are as follows:
Monday November 29th….. Class One
Tuesday November 30th…. Class Two
Wednesday December 1st…Class Three
Monday December 6th……..Class Four
Tuesday December 7th……. Class Five
Wednesday December 8th..Class Six
Start time is 5pm-9pm…..please arrive early the first day to fill out the paperwork .

*the classes must be taken in order ….. if a class is missed, the student can not take Class 6 and will have to come back in January to complete the missed class and final class.

Starting today 9-20-2021…….you can no longer call and schedule the driving exam. You must do it Online

The State of Ohio has passed HB77 included in this bill is the 24 hour Online and Classroom portion of driver education that affects all driving schools. Prior to this bill as long as a student had their 2 hour Certificate of Enrollment or had completed one in person class they could start their in cars. That is no longer an option. You must have your 24 hour Certificate of Completion or you have to have finished and passed the final classroom and test in order for in cars to begin. This is State mandated and must be followed.

Please don’t move the poles and cones..... the church wants left at the parking spaces...... not where the black spots on the pavement are......

The poles and cones for practice are back at Eastside.... here are a couple of things to follow as they are kind enough to let us use the lot.......

If you have your own poles and cones please stay behind the light poles.

Do not go up to the building and take their cones.
They have had several taken in the past.

Please do not litter.

Now for parents..... the poles and cones are for your teen to practice not for a driving instructor to teach their student. Do not let anyone make you feel you have to leave. If they pull up too close ask them to give your teen room and not make them more nervous than they already are.

Poles and cones are back at Eastside......we put them up in the dark...... so we may need to make an adjustment to the head cone and pole..... but hey.... they’re back!

We have had a couple of teens tell us they called Batavia and scheduled appointments in October...... Batavia HAS NOT resumed testing....if you call them they can schedule you.... but at a testing station that is on the list of 31 Closed Courses in Ohio. The only testing going on in Batavia is Motorcycle and if your teen fails Maneuverability they can retest in Batavia because an Examiner does not get in the car.... only the teen and their parent.
Current Testing Stations close to us and a couple not so close are in:

Mount Healthy, Hamilton, Middletown , Xenia, Huber Heights, Jackson( out 32), New Boston( East of Portsmouth) and 3 in Columbus.

We just received notification from Eastside Christian Chuch that they having the parking lot repaved. You will be unable to practice there from September 14-22..... they want everyone to know that you will be able to continue to practice there once they have finished. We are going to try and find a temporary place..... I will update the location.

Parents and Students....... the poles and cones at Eastside Christian Church are there for students to practice..... not for other driving schools to use to teach their students. Every Student Driver car is to be equipped with our own set of poles and cones.
Please do not let another driving school make you feel you have to leave because they pull up to use them........if you feel they are too close and making you uncomfortable..... just ask them to give you your space.

There are now 27 Closed Course testing stations open in Ohio.......Seven Hills on Hamilton Ave is booking out into September. Xenia, Hamilton and Middletown are into the middle to end of August. We have students getting in to other ones sooner.... but they are driving about 2-3 hours to get to them. You can go Online and look up other locations..... the number to call is 877-439-8378 be prepared to be on hold for at least an hour.
