Western Invasive Weed Short Course The 2019 Short Course is scheduled for April 15-18, 2019. The format will remain similar to the previous Short Courses.

The Western Invasive W**d Short Course is an intensive study of current technologies and best management practices associated with the noxious and invasive w**ds in the Western United States.The Short Course targets local, state, federal government, and other land managers throughout the western region who desire a better understanding of noxious w**d management. The course stresses ecologically-based plant management and includes prevention, cultural, mechanical and chemical plant management, and restoration and revegetation.

The 2019 WIWSC will be similar to the previous Courses, to see agendas please visit http://www.mountainwestpest.com/Current_Course.html. The Organizing Committee builds the final agenda based on a pre-course survey of the registered participants to assess specific areas of participant interest. The pre-course survey will not be sent to participants until they have completed the registration process.

Our target participants are local, state, federal government, and other land managers throughout the western region desiring a better understanding of w**d management. WIWSC is designed to benefit both those new to invasive plant management and experienced professionals seeking a comprehensive update in western invasive w**ds and their management. The WIWSC instructors are members of the Western Society of W**d Science.

The registration fee ($825.00 by February 28, 2019; $925.00 on March 1, 2019) includes the educational program, course manuals, laboratory sessions and related course materials, other supplies and daily refreshment breaks. Three lunches and three dinners are also included in the registration.

Lodging is not included in the registration fee. Due to the devastating 2013 floods, Sylvan Dale lodging is limited; additional lodging is available at La Quinta Inn & Suites. Breakfast is included with lodging at both Sylvan Dale and La Quinta.

The short course is limited to 30 participants. Enrollment is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
