New Vision Charter School

New Vision Charter School New Vision Charter School is a Core Knowledge K-8 charter school in Thompson School District. It is the goal of NVCS to maintain these class sizes.

NVCS Founding Committee recognizes that children learn best in an environment in which they feel safe, in which their differences are respected, and in which they are held to high expectations for success. We believe that children thrive in fair, structured, and disciplined surroundings, and that such surroundings can promote the development of values and character. NVCS Founding Committee believes parents want to know their children are safe when they are in school and that they will be treated with respect. We recognize that parents expect their children to learn while in school and to emerge from their educational experience with the knowledge necessary for continued success once they leave NVCS. We encourage and expect parents to be active participants in their child’s education and welcome their input and involvement. NVCS is committed to maximizing learning and believes that small class size is a crucial part of educational success. There are approximately 22 students in each kindergarten class 27 in grades 1-8. To further expand learning opportunities, NVCS will operate on a longer school day than other Thompson District schools. The day will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The founding members believe this extra time will have a significant positive impact on the total learning process.

Our 6th and 8th-grade girls volleyball teams did it! Both teams brought home the NCAC Summit Championship, and we couldn't be more proud! To our athletes: you earned this. Every early practice, every dive for the ball, every point you fought for together led to this moment. You played with heart, grit, and incredible teamwork all season long.

Thank you to our coaches for the hours, the encouragement, and for believing in these girls every step of the way. To our students, your cheering made every home game electric! And to our families, thank you for the rides, the snacks, the late nights, and the constant support. This win belongs to you too. What a season. What a team. What a community! WE DID IT, NVCS! Our boys soccer team is officially the Patriot League Champions! What a season! Our players showed up every day with heart, hustle, and teamwork, and it all came together in the championship game! Our young buccaneers dove into the real history of piracy, learning about famous pirates, life aboard a ship, and why the "Golden Age of Piracy" still sparks our imaginations today. They explored maps, charted courses, and used their navigation skills like true sailors on the high seas.

And of course, the day was full of "Arrr!", "Shiver me timbers!", and plenty of "Aye, aye, Captain!" From morning meeting to dismissal, our classroom was one jolly pirate ship. A big thank-you to our 3rd grade teachers for making learning such a treasure!

Today our K–4 students enjoyed a fun surprise as Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Andrews arrived in inflatable costumes, complete with a sprinkle of glitter, to recognize students who have been showing strong attendance. It brought plenty of smiles and was a simple, memorable way to highlight how important it is to be at school each day.

Consistent attendance in elementary school helps students build essential skills, stay connected with their classmates, and develop routines that support long‑term learning. Every day in the classroom strengthens their confidence and progress.
