Mountain Lion Battalion Earns 2nd Place in Saber Color Guard at Rocky Mountain Drill Championships
The Mountain Lion Battalion proudly earned 2nd place in Saber Color Guard at the Rocky Mountain Drill Championships held on April 25, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Recognized as a premier, high-level JROTC competition, the Rocky Mountain Western Drill Championships—hosted by the 5th ROTC Brigade—brings together some of the top-performing Armed and Unarmed teams for rigorous Regulation and Exhibition drill events. Competing against elite programs from across the region, the Mountain Lion Battalion demonstrated exceptional discipline, precision, and teamwork on a highly competitive stage.
The Saber Color Guard team was composed of Cadets Amelia Gallatin, Belle Sparks, Gage Burke, and Tate Burke of Mountain View High School. Their outstanding performance reflects countless hours of dedicated practice and a strong commitment to excellence. This achievement highlights not only their individual talents but also the strength and growing reputation of the Mountain Lion Battalion within the JROTC community.

🏀 Exciting Upgrades Coming to the Lions Den! 🏀
Mountain View High School is proud to share several exciting facility improvements that will enhance the experience for our student-athletes, students, families, and community.
New video boards and shot clocks are currently being installed, bringing modern technology and an elevated game-day atmosphere to the Lions Den. In addition, our gym floor has been resurfaced, and updated court graphics are on the way to give our home court a fresh new look.
These upgrades represent a significant investment by Thompson School District in Mountain View High School and our students. We are grateful for the support of district leadership, the Board of Education, and our Facilities Department for their commitment to providing outstanding learning and athletic environments.
We can’t wait to unveil the finished product and welcome everyone back to the Lions Den this fall. 💜🦁

One of Mountain View High School's coolest traditions is back. Our freshman seminar teams work hard designing, engineering, and building their very own boats. Then, it’s time to put their creation to the ultimate test in the MVHS pool!
Will they glide to victory, or will they go down with the ship? Please check out these highlights, and witness the chaos and creativity firsthand.
