๐Ÿšง๐ŸŒŸ It's happening! Our inclusive playground is starting to take shape! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿšง

We're excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at the installation process as this dream becomes a reality for the children and families of Ohio Valley Voices. Soon, our students will have a welcoming space to play, explore, learn, and connect alongside their peers.

This project would not be possible without the incredible support of our community. A special thank you to Impact 100 Cincinnati for their transformational $100,000 grant and to the Sharp Family for their tireless advocacy, fundraising efforts, and dedication to making this playground a reality.

We can't wait to welcome our children to this amazing new space and share the finished project with all of you. Stay tuned for more updates! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿ’™ Ohio Valley Voices was proud to participate in "From Screening to Success: Strengthening Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) in Kentucky," a summit focused on improving outcomes for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and their families.

OVV Executive Director Maria Sentelik and Special Programs Director Meredith Craven joined colleagues from across Kentucky in conversations about strengthening support systems for children and families through early hearing detection and intervention.

Thank you KY Office for Children with Special Health Care Needs!

On June 4, Meredith Craven, OVV's Special Programs Director, traveled to Louisville to participate in the Kentucky Early Language and Literacy Initiative (KELLI).

KELLI brings together members of the community who share a common goal: improving language and literacy outcomes for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.

We're proud to be part of these collaborative efforts to ensure every child has access to the resources they need to thrive. ๐Ÿ’™

Spring is a season of growthโ€”and at OVV, itโ€™s one of our favorite times of the year. ๐ŸŒฑ

At the end of May, we celebrate our 2026 graduates and the incredible progress theyโ€™ve made along their journey.

Every day at OVV, growth looks like:
๐Ÿ’™ A child hearing their parentโ€™s voice clearly
๐Ÿ’™ A preschooler reading a sentence independently
๐Ÿ’™ A graduate walking confidently into public school prepared to succeed

These moments are why we do what we do, and why we celebrate every milestone along the way.

Congratulations to our graduating class! We canโ€™t wait to see all the places your voices will take you. ๐ŸŽ“

If youโ€™d like to help create more moments like these for future OVV children and families, you can support our mission here: https://ohiovalleyvoices.givecloud.co/product/86AE4E7/2026-ohio-valley-voices-annual-fund-appeal

๐Ÿ’™ May is Speech-Language-Hearing Month! ๐Ÿ’™

At OVV, we often say โ€œLiteracy is spoken language in print.โ€ ๐Ÿ“š Children build reading skills by first developing a strong foundation in listening, language, and communication.

Those skills help open doors far beyond the classroomโ€”and weโ€™re proud to see that reflected in our outcomes:
โœจ 83% of OVV graduates have spoken language skills comparable to hearing peers
๐Ÿ“– 84% read at or above grade level
๐ŸŽ“ 86% pursue post-secondary education

From transitioning into mainstream education settings to celebrating alumni success stories, we love watching our children grow into confident communicators and lifelong learners.
