✨ Hello, Adventures in Leadership!

One of my favorite parts of Day One was walking through the wardrobe.

I know that probably sounds funny. I mean, it's literally just a closet with no back. But it was so much more!

Before we walked through, one of our counselors invited us to make a choice. Walking through the wardrobe was like saying, "I'm here. I'm going to participate in activities. I'm willing to be a part of camp this week."

I think that's one of my favorite things about camp. You can get as much or as little out of it as you choose to. Walking through the wardrobe was really the first step in making that (good) choice.

After that, we gathered at the lamppost, met with our realms, came up with our names and cheers, and started getting to know the people we'd spend the week with.

Looking back, it was a pretty simple way to start camp. But I don't think I'd change it. Sometimes the smallest moments end up meaning the most. And we all love Narnia, no?😏❤️

✨ Strength in the Journey wasn't just our theme—it was something our counselors lived every day.

Through their kindness, leadership, encouragement, and willingness to serve, they showed us what true strength in the journey looks like. They strengthened each camper's journey and helped make every challenge, every laugh, and every memory meaningful.

Thank you to each of these incredible counselors, our support team, and every volunteer who made Adventures in Leadership a week we'll never forget. ❤️

My takeaway from the retreat was meeting a bunch of amazing people who have the same interests as me! I learned a lot from the simulations and from the youth and other counselors. I feel like the retreat changed me for the better, especially because I went on my own terms and with an open mind.

The retreat made me feel needed in ways I didn't know I could help. This retreat taught me that stepping outside my comfort zone can help me grow, and I will always be grateful for the experience.
