A look back: High School Band — State Superior 🎺🏆

This year our high school band took the stage at state competition and walked away with a Superior rating — one of only three awarded across all competing bands in Colorado. That kind of excellence doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of countless hours of practice, incredible dedication, and a group of students who showed up and gave everything they had.
We are so incredibly grateful for the musicians, the directors, and everyone who poured into this program. What a year to be a Cougar. 🎶

At RCS, Christ isn't an add-on to the school day. He's the starting point. From biblically integrated curriculum to morning Bible reading, from chapel to small groups, from serve days to prayer over our students — every part of life at RCS is rooted in Jesus.

This is why RCS isn't just a great school, it's a place where students encounter Christ in the classroom, in the hallways, and in the community.

We are thrilled to announce that we have hired Mr. Hiram Garza as our new band director! Mr. Garza grew up in San Diego, California and was called to teach music during a Christian music camp he attended in high school. Here is a short introduction from our conductor:

RCS Instrumental Family,
I am super excited to be returning to private Christian education, joining Resurrection Christian School as the new Director of Bands. For more than a decade, I have had the privilege of serving students of all ages in educational, performance, and worship ministry settings.

Outside of the classroom, I remain active as a conductor, performer, and creator. I enjoy playing jazz, arranging and recording worship music, and pursuing a variety of creative projects that allow me to continue growing as a musician.

I'm passionate about helping students pursue excellence, develop character, and grow as leaders through music. My family and I are excited to become part of the RCS community, and I look forward to building relationships with students and families while continuing the strong tradition of music education at RCS.

When I'm not making music, you'll usually find me spending time with my growing family, serving at church in some capacity, or grilling something delicious.

A look back: Homecoming Tailgate & Parade 🏈

This year, RCS made history.

What began as a reimagined Back to School Bash became the largest event in RCS history — welcoming 1,400 students, families, and alumni for a night of fellowship, fun, and football. The evening kicked off with a parade through campus as teams, clubs, and students celebrated who we are at RCS together. Sage Dining fired up the grills in the courtyard, lawn chairs and blankets dotted the grounds, and school spirit was everywhere. As the sun went down, the football game kicked off and Homecoming Royalty was crowned. From Pre-K through 12th grade, the entire RCS community came together under the Friday night lights — and it was a night none of us will forget.

We can't wait for next year ✨🐾💙
