The Chatfield Edge is a nonprofit organization that believes education is a powerful path to success. We serve first-generation and non-traditional students faced with challenges that can make post-secondary education feel out-of-reach.
Our staff work one-on-one with students to remove obstacles that can get in the way of achieving educational goals:
• Choosing a field of study and school
• Applying for school and finding financial assistance
• Developing solid study habits
• Foster and develop confidence in meeting post-secondary educational goals
• Navigate processes after enrollment
With The Chatfield Edge by their side, limitations are replaced by the promise of a rewarding career that provides permanent stability for each student and their family.

National Simplicity Day reminds us to step back and focus on what truly matters. Our scholars deserve that same opportunity, the ability to pursue their career dreams without unnecessary obstacles weighing them down. We help remove those barriers so they can focus entirely on their path to success.

Like many current Chatfield Edge scholars, Barbara Rohrer worked a job to support herself while earning her undergraduate degree. Along the way, she developed a desire to give back to others in small ways, resonating with St. Mother Teresa’s famous phrase “do small things with great love.”
She is eager to help The Chatfield Edge augment its “Servant Leaders” program which aims to strengthen academic success through service to others.
“That’s where my passion is. I want to help students take on roles in community service so they can do small things to make the world a better place for all of us,” she said.
