📣TESPA needs our help! 📣
We need a BLUE WAVE tomorrow to get TESPA on the agenda for the April 15th Board Meeting. They have been waiting (and stonewalled) every month since LAST MAY!
Have you thought about what it would be like without:
🍎your ILC para who knows your students' every move
🍎your sweet lunch lady with the kind smile for your students every day
🍎that amazing classroom aide who keeps every ball you might drop from hitting the ground
🍎your health office aide who soothes boo-boos and hugs away tears
🍎that bus driver who gets your own child safely home after a long day at school
🍎 the quiet night custodian who beautifully sets the stage for a new day
Please grab a friend, wear blue, and bring your heart and voice! 📣

Tonight, SEA showed up united with a clear demand to recognize ALL Sheridan staff. We were disappointed at first by the District's refusal to allow ESPs into the conversation. SEA stood firm, and eventually Superintendent Thompson and the District legal counsel, Adele Reester, relented and came to the table.
The SEA team laid out a clear proposal to avoid a strike, which Superintendent Thompson said he would bring to the board for an executive session at the next meeting on March 18. Stay tuned for updates and next steps!

Educators across Colorado are fighting to cut the ropes that have held our public schools back for far too long.
SB26-135 has been introduced in the Senate and assigned to committee, a major step in our fight to free the funding Colorado students and educators deserve.
This is what collective power looks like: organizing, speaking out, and demanding that our lawmakers invest in our neighborhood public schools.
Next up: Senate committee review on Thursday.
