This is how humans should also protect their young!

When human milk is compared to formula...it is not even a fair comparison! Note: Formula ingredients are the short list on the far right!

During pregnancy, it’s more important than ever to incorporate dynamic motion into your day to keep your hips fluid.

Dynamic sitting? What does that look like?

If you work at a computer, swap out your office chair for a firm exercise ball, keeping your knees spread apart, lower than your hips. Let your abdomen become a hammock for baby.

When driving a car, try putting a small physio ball (with just one puff of air) in between your ischial tuberosities (or “sitz bones”), so they touch the car seat. Your hips will get the dynamic motion they need, and you’ll have less pain. Win-win!

Balance, gravity, and movement.

How does Spinning Babies® make birth easier?

Labor contractions help babies change positions to fit the pelvis. Spinning Babies® Three Principles: Balance, Gravity, and Movement guide us to help the uterus position the baby. The positions that open the top of the pelvis are different from the positions that open the bottom of the pelvis. Balance first followed by smarter birth positions may facilitate an easier labor. Spinning Babies® offers a new paradigm for birth.

I find belly mapping to be fascinating, as in this photo!

No lie, Gail Tully was named in Parents Magazine’s article on the baby position, Transverse Lie.

Is your baby lying sideways? If you are in your third trimester and your baby is still lying sideways in your womb, you will find reassurance in our webpage sharing what to do.

Do you need more insight on the possible fetal positions?

What is the best position for baby to be in when labor begins?

The Left Occiput Anterior position has the reputation of being the best fetal position. LOA is just one of the best positions to help the baby be in the smallest diameter to fit the pelvis. The LOA baby’s back is on the mother’s left side, and faces towards the mother’s back.

A good fetal position aims the baby’s crown onto the cervix to help it open more easily and to allow for labor to progress more smoothly. When babies start labor with the back of the head towards mother’s anterior (front), less rotation is required to happen. Rotation plays a very important role in birth.

The ideal, or optimal, fetal position is a flexed baby. A flexed baby can use their spine, back and shoulder muscles to help themselves be born. Flexed baby’s bodies are lined up to make their kicks at the top of the womb (fundus) be more effective in moving them down through the pelvis.

Spinning Babies® helps baby get into position for birth. For every fetal position, there are techniques and methods that we encourage in order to facilitate movement and rotation.

There is much more regarding baby positions. You can read about each one here: https://www.spinningbabies.com/pregnancy-birth/baby-position/
