SHARKATHON! Our community raised over $31,000 to support our PTA budget this year. This money will go directly back to our students. Thanks for connecting with us! 💜💛

We had so much fun! Thanks to everyone who supported us during Sharkathon! 💜💛

We did it! 🎉 Our Stopher community raised $30,000 to fully fund the PTA budget for the year! 💜💛

Currently, our fourth graders are the top grade-level fundraisers, so they enjoyed donuts as an afternoon treat today! 🍩 We’ve heard Kindergarten is close behind… 👀

On Monday, we’ll celebrate with SHARKATHON! 🦈 Since we met our goal, our top fundraisers will get the chance to dunk a Stopher staff member during our whole-school celebration!

Thank you to our incredible Stopher community for your generosity and support. We did it! 💜💛🦈

Due to today’s extreme heat, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Open House.

If you’ve ever attended an all-school evening event at Stopher, you know that a building full of families can quickly raise the temperature inside. With the extreme temperatures outside, we do not want to risk overwhelming our cooling system again.

Most importantly, we want to preserve a cool, comfortable building for our students and staff for a full day of learning tomorrow. For that reason, we believe cancelling tonight’s event is the best decision.

It’s hard to put into words all that Stopher PTA does for us! Sharkathon is their biggest fundraiser, which funds their entire budget for this year. PTA is committed to family engagement and school support. Today, we kicked off Sharkathon fundraising with our first pep rally of the school year.

These pictures say it all - our school is the BEST! Please check your Sharks’ folders for ways to donate. 💜💛

🌱GROW WITH JCPS | Employee Stories

This month, we're celebrating Alysa Delaney, an ECE Instructional Assistant at Stopher Elementary School who has been part of JCPS for six years.

For Alysa, supporting students is about more than what happens in the classroom. She values the genuine love, acceptance, and inclusion her school community shows its MSD students, and she brings that same compassion, patience, and humor to her work each day.

Her advice to future JCPS employees?

"Don't be stingy with your love, encouragement, or kindness. The more you invest in your students, the more rewarding the experience becomes for both you and them."

Thank you, Alysa, for the care and compassion you bring to your students and school community. 💙
