Taking MAP tests this week. Today is Reading - 1 hour test, no distractions, as much sleep as needed before hand, no time limit, strategies for completing given by subject. One test each day for one week and then week two the opportunity to retake any or all tests.

This was a fun back to school trip to Alabama's Marriott Ross Bridge Resort and Spa.
Back to school meaning we go on a trip the week that mainstream school goes back in session, in early to mid August.
We start back September 1. We exceed the number of yearly instruction hours required by the state of KY as well. Makes so much sense.

Berea College is a gem of an asset to KY students and worth a visit with your middle school kids. The campus is completely run by student workers from farming to infrastructure in exchange for a free (if warranted) world class education. The campus is run with sustainably built systems to support wildlife, air quality, and the health of all beings walking, working, and learning on its grounds.

HOMESCHOOL - PRESCHOOL OR KINDER ART PROJECT
Here is a fun little wall art installation we did during pre school at home, inspired by the kids show Tumbleleaf. We bought the tiny wooden pots at a craft store, hand painted them and hot glued them to the wall. The barnacle character stuck inside is a small fuzzy ball (packaged in bags, different sizes) and you pull the top of the ball out to make it look like hair. Craft googly eyes can be added to the characters for extra fun. This was super cute on the wall and lasted for years. If one fell off we just hot glued it back on. Barnacle characters could be taken out and switched into other pots.
