Wow, what a whirlwind these last two months have been, coaching for and .bike on both ends of the US and points in between… Santa Cruz CA, Grand Junction/Fruita CO, Boston MA, Nashville TN, Fayetteville WV, Chilicothe OH, Bentonville AR, and of course locally in Louisville… and it’s only just begun! So many cool locations & trails and new friendships made, I am so blessed and thankful for this opportunity!

Up in here Boston leading a PMBIA Level 1 course with this fantastic group of humans! Forecast was for rain all day but the raincoats stayed dry… final day is up tomorrow!

First gates of the season… though I’m feeling the early season sluggishness, there are very few things in sport that compare to the BMX Gate Start, able to put fill power down to an almost instant sprint with riders crowding both sides(all I can think of other sport wise is sprinting out of the blocks). Then add in the art of flowing on the track as represented by Gus hitting the 3rd and 4th straights.

Just finished my first Ninja Clinic of 2026, and the first ever held in the St Louis, MO area ever… what a great group of riders and Castlewood is a cool park with some fun flowy trails!

Had a great weekend racing the Redbull Tennessee National at Windrock… placed 2nd to Jeff Sims, (Congrats Jeff!). It was a solid run, missed a couple lines but not too badly. Super pumped and proud of Gus, he placed 3rd in a class of 52 riders, he was also the 2nd rider of the day to break the 3 minute mark. A big thank you to Aaron Gwin and the crew at Windrock for an absolutely fantastic weekend!

So I did a thing last weekend… changed roles and became a true student again by taking Aaron Gwin’s Race Camp course at Windrock. Aaron didn’t just regurgitate what everyone else says, he provided true value by teaching from his experiences and perspectives. I learned much and grew both as a rider and a coach over the weekend. Thank you to Aaron and Jake for a wonderful weekend!

Want to become a Certified MTB Coach? I can help you out! PMBIA(Professional Mountain Bike Instructors Association), the Global Standard for MTB Coaching has Instructor Trainers all over the world, and now as of last Summer, I am one of them! Check out my schedule in the pic, there will be more added. Hope to have a course or two close to home here in the Midwest added in there also. For the full schedule check out pmbia.bike
