August welcomes Meet the Teacher night (August 14; 5-7:00), the first day of school (August 19 for sixth graders; August 20 for seventh and eighth); and school supply shopping:)
If you are in my Art 7 or Art 8 class, you need the following: Black fine Sharpies (2), Black ultra-fine Sharpies (2), #2 wooden pencils, block eraser, folder, gallon plastic Ziploc-type bag, and one plastic (recycled) lid or plastic paint pallette. You do not need a sketchbook this year (it is being provided).
If you are in my sixth grade Adulting 101* class, you will need a folder that has paper fasteners - the kind of folder that can hold hole-punched papers. You also need a pen or pencil every day.
*I am the new (fun to say for year 35) Adulting 101 teacher to many of the sixth grade students.

Our budding artists have diligently crafted unique papier-mache snack bags. Join us at the Art Show on May 3 in the high school gym, 5-7:00 pm, to celebrate their creativity and hard work!

Our district’s Art Show 🎨 is coming soon to a high school gym near you! Although some of my students chose not to participate, all were given the opportunity to have something in the Art Show this year.

I am sad to see my current sixth graders moving on but I’m excited for the new ones coming! Thursday, March 21 starts a new nine weeks. What do you need? Ultra Fine and Fine black permanent markers (PLEASE have them), wooden pencils, and a block eraser would be great!

Update: I can also use cleaned out plastic yogurt containers. They are a great size for water cups.
We use cardboard for all sorts of art projects (two examples below). Cereal box type cardboard is the easiest to cut and store. If the kids are eating lots of cereal and Cheez Its (or anything similar) this winter break, we need your boxes🙂. Thank you!

Look what some of “my kids” did!! They enlarged the character four times the original size! So proud!!
