Accessible, inclusive, and student-centered piano and vocal lessons ages 5-105 in Louisville, KY.

Hi again! Sad news. My video filtered out all music thinking it was background noise (a tragedy). I hope that everyone who was there today was able to get a good video of their kiddo(s)!

Facebook has decided that only pages with at least 100 followers get to live stream now. I guess we have to find enough people to follow my page before the spring recital 😉

Hi all! I tried to live stream our recital today, and it wouldn't let me (apparently I'm not popular enough, lol!). I have a video of the whole thing that I will try to post later! So if you came to my page to watch today, I'm SO sorry!

Louisville families:

I am in need of a pianist to play my choir's accompaniments at my recital on December 14th. The music is not too terribly difficult but I am not able to play because I need to focus on the kids.

If you or anyone you know (family, friend, piano teacher, church musician, it doesn't matter!) can help a gal with poor sight reading skills, please message me!

Fall semester is starting this month and I have some openings for private lessons on Wednesdays! I have experience teaching piano to ages 5-12 and voice to ages 9-12. I am located in St Matthews just off Breckenridge. Here are the Wednesday times I have available right now:

12:00-12:30
2:30-3:00
3:00-3:30

I charge $25/30 minute lesson. I provide discounts when two siblings take lessons!

My goal is accessible music- if these times do not work, you cannot afford lessons, or you need me to come to you, please message and ask! My flexibility on travel isn't as high this year due to a busy schedule, but I can usually figure something out. If you want to know more about me and my studio, there is an introduction pinned on my page.

I have a scholarship fund that goes towards lessons and materials for families who cannot afford them. It has already covered several lessons and multiple keyboards for local families. Please donate or share if you want to support this cause!

Hi folx!

This year, I am starting some music programs with Explorations Academy (sister of Wildflowers Academy, under Kentuckiana Homeschool). Explorations Academy is new this year and full of amazing teachers with amazing courses. I still have room in my 1-3 grade and 4-6 grade choirs! You do NOT have to attend a full day in order to participate in my choirs. Classes are each an hour long and take place weekly on Thursdays.

I will be at our open house tonight (7/18) from 6:30-7:30 to talk about my classes! Other open house dates in the near future are Tuesday 7/23 from 11am-12pm and Thursday 8/1 from 2-3pm. I hope to see some new faces!! Feel free to massage me with any questions about choir or for the location of open houses!

With love,
Ms. Caroline 🩷

Hello, all!

This Spring has thrown a lot of craziness at my household. I struggled with unknown health issues through February and March, so I chose to do something a little different for our recital this semester! Over the last couple weeks, all of my kiddos recorded recital pieces to put together into a virtual recital for you :)

I am so proud of these kids for accomplishing everything they did this semester despite me being in-and-out of lessons for two months! They are resilient- more than I deserve. So much love to all my families this year

Announcement time!!!

As my current students know, I have been teaching at Wildflowers Academy this school year. Well, we have put together something huge and exciting for the fall! Today, registration for Kentuckiana Homeschool's Explorations Academy opens to the entire local homeschool community. There are so many super cool courses being offered (some that I just wish I had access to as a kid!).

I am teaching two different choirs (1-3 grade and 4-6 grade), group ukulele (3-5), and musical theater (5-8). I have been wanting to start a local choir for a while now, but never had the space! I am attaching a registration link in the comments for anyone interested.

A few reminders:

I am always taking new piano students! Am I crazy for teaching a full day of 2nd/3rd grade, another full day of elective classes, and 17+ piano students around that? Maybe. Am I the luckiest person in the world to be doing so much music with our homeschool community? Absolutely.

I am always taking donations for the John and Sharon Snyder Scholarship Fund. Your previous donations have already provided access to lessons and materials for homeschool families. My Venmo is in a previous post if you would like to contribute!

As always, message or email me if you have any questions, and share this post if you know other homeschool families that may benefit from my (or other people's) classes this fall!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our little recital 🩷

Today, I shared that I am trying to start a scholarship fund for families who are not able to afford piano lessons. I am overwhelmed by the generosity I received today alone. So, I am officially announcing the John and Sharon Snyder Scholarship Fund, named after my grandparents who always worked so hard to encourage my efforts in music.

I am attaching my Venmo for those that asked for it today. Anything is appreciated to put towards accessible lessons. If you know anyone who would benefit from free or reduced lessons, please send them my way 🩷

Hi, folks! It's been a while since posting- life is crazy! A few things to share:

Our studio recital is this Saturday at 2pm ET. I hope to live stream it again, so if you have a student to watch or want to see a little bit of studio action, please tune in here!

I am a little late to getting my schedule together for next semester. If you are interested in getting started with piano or vocal lessons, please reach out and I can send out open slots once my current students are scheduled!

If anyone is interested in group ukulele classes, please let me know! I don't have one scheduled yet, but have materials and can fit one into my schedule if I have enough interest for it.

I recently moved to St Matthews. It is a much more peaceful neighborhood than the last house. I have a dedicated studio space now, too 🩷
(Also, surprise for any past students, we have two class mascots now. Clover is 8 months old and crazy. She is here with Marcy to give dog snuggles)

You can message me here or email me at [email protected] with any questions!

If you're new here, hi! My name is Caroline Snyder, and I've been teaching in Louisville since Fall of 2019. I am currently going to school for a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. My music studio became an established LLC in the state of Kentucky in 2021 (it sure doesn't feel like it's been that long!). I added group ukulele classes last year and have loved every second of it. This Spring, I led my second studio recital! If you take lessons or classes with me, you are likely to meet my two cats and two turtles and are guaranteed to be snuggled by my dog (and official studio mascot), Marcy.

I feel that it's important for families to know that I am LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent friendly. All religions, genders, sexual orientations, conditions, and disorders are welcome in my home! As someone who is neurodivergent and chronically ill, I have all sorts of tools and a world of understanding for students who struggle with health issues, ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, or trauma. Please feel welcome to message me with any questions regarding this topic ❤️

It's almost fall semester time! My student numbers have grown, so lesson slots are starting to get limited.

I will be teaching one beginner group ukulele class for students ages 7-9 this semester. It will be Fridays at 12pm. I may be able to fit another one earlier in the week if I end up with more than 5 students! This semester's class will run August 18th-December 8th, with a fall break on October 6th. The cost is $250/up front or $18/weekly. I can provide a discount for low income families, siblings taking the class, and children who are taking private lessons as well as ukulele classes.

I am still offering piano, vocal, and ukulele private lessons! These are $25/30 minute lesson. I have experience with ages 5-12, but am capable of teaching older students as well. I can provide a discount on private lessons for low income families and siblings taking private lessons as well. Most of my availability is Monday midday/early afternoon, but I have a few slots here and there on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I am also teaching on the platform Outschool now! I currently have two composer history courses and a learn to play the kalimba class available. These will be listed consistently and some are one-time courses with no commitment. There is capability to request class topics on my page, so don't be afraid to submit one! Searching for Periwinkle Music should take you to my profile.

I am located off Preston Highway right next to the UofL campus. There is an introduction and more detailed lesson/class information on my page. Please message or email if you have any questions!

I am starting to finalize my Summer lesson schedule if anyone is interested in starting piano, voice, or ukulele private lessons! I've decided against doing a group class this Summer so that I can focus on my own school before I start teaching full time again in the Fall.

I charge $25/30 minute lesson. My ultimate goal is to make music accessible for anyone and everyone, so I am able to give a small discount for low income families (I don't need proof for this- just a conversation about your situation and what works best for you!).

I teach out of my home, which is right between UofL campus and Preston Highway.

My schedule is very flexible this Summer! I'll be teaching Mon-Thurs and can do morning or afternoon lessons. If you have a super specific time that your family is free, we can work with that! This is another way that I try to make music accessible because I understand how busy people can get, especially during the Summer.

You can message me here or send me an email at [email protected] if you are interested or if you have any questions about lessons. There is an introduction on my page if you want to get to know me a little! There is also a live stream video from my recital this past Saturday. My kids made me very proud ❤️
