Black History Note
Judge W. “Skip” Bedford Jr. appointed the first American of African descent by Governor Paul E. Patton as Kentucky’s first arbitrator and Workers Compensation Judge on Feb 21, 1997 and June 16, 2000 respectively. Judge Bedford was also employed and served as the first Black Labor Law Attorney for Amoco/ BP oil company upon graduating from Law school in 1974. I am proud to salute my Dad, the eldest of fourteen children born and raised in public housing in Covington, Ky across the Ohio River from the city of Cincinnati, Ohio.

STOP the President and his Republicans FROM CUTTING THE PROGRAMS WE DEPEND ON Y'all!!

Besides the 3 that voted against this bill (including Kentucky Senator Rand Paul) Republicans are pushing through a ruthless budget that would gut healthcare, slash food assistance, and throw millions of families into crisis. This bill would cut $800 billion from Medicaid and $500 billion from Medicare. Sixteen million people could lose their health insurance. Children would go hungry. Seniors could be forced out of their homes. Too many would suffer. Too many would die.

This budget is nothing more than a massive handout to the ultra-wealthy, paid for by cutting life-saving programs our communities rely on. It is a core part of Trump's Project 2025 agenda to strip power and resources from poor and working people to benefit billionaires and corporations.

But Congress can still stop it. We've fought back before, and we can do it again. Call your Congresspeople now and demand they vote NO on this cruel plan. Our lives are on the line.

Last night nearly 200 CLOUT leaders gathered together from across the city to prepare for the April 16 Nehemiah Action Assembly!

The Rally informed and inspired leaders to bring people with them to the Action, so with 1,200 people present we can show city leadership that Louisville cares about issues of justice!

Congratulations goes out to Virginia Bute-Riley, the dauhter-in law of William Grant High School alumni, Juanita Patterson. Virginia was recently awarded the coveted Maryland Art Educator Of the Year honor. She is the wife of Darren Riley.
