Join us tomorrow at 5pm in Curtsinger 118 for a special event with our very own Dr. Burgess! She will be leading an interactive lesson on how to teach music by rote for ALL grade levels! This event is highly encouraged for all music majors because this skill can help you in situations that you never thought you’d be in! Prepare yourselves for the unknown, and make sure you learn about this invaluable tool!

We had a great discussion this evening with some very wise professors/teachers! A big thanks to Dr. Dismukes, Dr. Cheney, Dr. Moffett, and Mrs. Cara Rogers for speaking to us all, giving us some practical advice about directing and teaching! Thanks to everyone who came by this evening too!

As college students getting ready for the real world, organizations like ACDA are extremely helpful in preparing you for a job, whether that be directing a choir at a church, directing a choir at a school, or directing a random group of strangers on the side of the road!! If you are a music major, you will most likely direct a choir AT LEAST once in your future. Come to our interest meeting this Thursday to learn about how ACDA can benefit you!

We are having a great time here in Louisville, KY for the Southern Division ACDA Conference! We have listened to many different Choral ensembles, including a stunning Middle School choir from China and a group from Korea called “Souls from Seoul.” We have also learned a lot through the different interest sessions and Honor Choir rehearsals that we have observed. We are all so thankful to have this opportunity to attend such a great conference.
Listen to this amazing group who will be performing at the ACDA Conference at the end of the month!
