The KyCEL Summer Learning Series is going well! On June 16th, we had Margaret Heritage (UCLA/WestEd) with us to discuss using formative assessment to improve instruction for English Learners. This past Tuesday, June 23rd, KDE Program Consultants Jessica Sanderson (Title III) & Erin Sudduth (Title I) provided us with comprehensive answers to frequently asked questions.
On June 30, our Summer Learning Series continues with Haiwen Chu from Quality teaching for English Learners. Haiwen's talk is entitled "Any Time, Any Place: Supporting English Learners in Mathematics through Distance Learning." Haiwen's presentation will be very interactive, and we anticipate a large audience. You can sign up for Haiwen's presentation on the form below.

While we regret that we can't see you all in person at the KyCEL Summer Institute, we have a wonderful line-up of weekly online modules scheduled for the June and July. We are very proud of the team of state and national experts we've enlisted!
The Summer Learning Series will begin on June 16th and will occur each Tuesday through the end of July.
The one hour modules will begin at 10:00 AM EST / 9:00 AM CST.
EILA credit will be available for administrators.
Professional Development credit for online presentations may be awarded by your district. A link to the Sign-In Sheet will be posted in the Chat box. We will issue Certificates of Attendance to all who Sign-In.
The modules will be conducted on the Zoom Meeting platform.
We will be presenting a session at KASA on Thursday afternoon. We hope to see you in Louisville.
