It’s been almost a year since I’ve really worked on one of the books I’ve always wanted to write.
I’ve written poems, songs, blog posts, and started more books than I’d like to admit, but I’ve never made it very far.
Last year was different.
Someone special encouraged me, pushed me, and made me believe I could actually finish one. When that person disappeared from my life, I stopped writing too.
Lately, I’ve been struggling mentally. I’ve spent too much time buried in self-doubt, sadness, and everything I feel like I should be doing but never seem to have enough time or energy for. I’ve also been sick almost every weekend since school started, which hasn’t exactly helped.
Today, after a nap and another attempt at recovering, something clicked. I can’t keep letting depression take things from me.
So I opened one of those unfinished books.
And I wrote.
Maybe this becomes the book I finally finish. Maybe writing becomes the place where I turn some of the pain into something meaningful. Either way, today I got a little closer to a goal I’ve carried for years.
So here’s a little glimpse into the process. 📖✍️
