This is our final newsletter for the 2025-26 school year. Next week the building will be closed for summer construction. You can still call the school until July 10. Calls after July 10 will be addressed next school year. We are proud to announce that we will be doing Summer Family Learning this year! Our building is closed for renovations, but we will be at 3 summer sites each week to have fun with students and their families. Students will get math "Practice Packs" to take home. They can practice games with family members and friends. They may come each week to play with other FCES students and teachers. They will also get a new game and free books each week that they come. We will meet in different locations on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. We will not provide childcare. Big news for our Fern Creek family! 🐾🎉

Today, we celebrate our incredible principal, Adrianne Tytus, on officially earning her doctorate after successfully defending her dissertation!

Dr. Tytus’s research, “Perspectives of School Leaders on Immigrant Family Engagement Amidst Changing Immigration Policies,” reflects the very heart of who she is as a leader—committed to building strong partnerships with families and creating a welcoming, supportive environment for every student.

Her work captures the lived experiences of school leaders and highlights practices that uplift family voice and ensure all students feel seen, valued, and supported—no matter the challenges around them.

Simply put… we are incredibly lucky to have Dr. Tytus leading our Tigers. 🐯 She leads with purpose, heart, and a deep commitment to doing what’s best for kids and families every single day.
