Olive Dreckman originally started as the travel and logistics coordinator at UofL and got promoted to director of ISLP in January. She has a special place in her heart for the ISLP Philippines trip since it was her first location with UofL, and she has been on it 4 times. She will be leading this years end of semester trip as well!

After 3 days of lectures, science experiments, games, and lots of bonding we said a bittersweet farewell to our friends in local high schools here in Cebu. Now we are off to explore the city!

Our last ISLP trip of 2023 is underway, the group enjoyed a quick getaway by spending a day layover exploring Seoul South Korea. Next stop, The Philippines!

The students spent their week exploring the local culture and food while giving back to the community through meaningful service projects.

Louie had a blast in Belize with six days of sun, sand, and service!
The trip was split between service at a local high school and cultural immersion that included dining, dancing, and sightseeing.

On Friday our group was hosted by the Faculty of Law at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. We got to share about our own experiences in law school and within the law profession. We also got to hear about the academic training they’re currently going through (it was exam week!) and how they want to use the skills they’re developing to build a better nation here. As everyone else in Ghana has been, they were gracious and hospitable and exceptionally bright. (We even had one of the students tell us, unsolicited, that Louis Brandeis was his first Justice in SCOTUS history!)
