Parents/Guardians, please ensure your student is following the dress code policy and the backpack policy.

Dear Golden Eagle Families,

Thank you for your continued support as we establish strong expectations for a successful school year at The Academy @ Shawnee.
Tuesday, August 11, will be the final day that we provide accommodations for students who do not meet our clear backpack and dress code expectations. Beginning Wednesday, August 12, the following will be enforced:

Clear Backpacks: We will no longer store non-clear backpacks for students during the school day. Non-clear backpacks will be confiscated and must be picked up by a parent/guardian.
Dress Code: We will no longer provide alternate clothing for students who arrive out of dress code. Students must come to school covered appropriately from neck to knee and in compliance with our dress code. If a student cannot correct the issue, a parent/guardian will be contacted.
No Hoodies: Hoodies are not permitted.
Phones & Earphones: Phones and earphones must remain stored and put away in accordance with school and district expectations.

These expectations have been communicated to our students, and we now need your partnership in ensuring they are followed each day.
Please help us by doing a quick check before your child leaves for school. Our goal is not to send students home or remove them from instruction—our goal is for every student to arrive prepared, remain in class, and learn.

We are raising the standard at Shawnee because we believe our students can rise to it. High expectations require consistency from all of us—students, staff, and families.
