Seen on FB recently: "How do you plan your homeschool with a houseful of children?"
That's been the story of my entire homeschooling career. π€£
Homeschooling while working, while pregnant, with babies, with WILD toddlers, while managing a health crisis, while caring for a parent .... The list goes on and on.
If I want to have a successful homeschool year, I've got to make planning and preparation a priority. It might mean a lot of frozen pizzas for dinner, or bringing my books to the pool. π
Whatever it takes, right?

It's been a quiet year here on the IG account. After pouring myself into our daughter's senior year, I wasn't feeling very creative. π¬
But now, as we prepare to launch her into college in a few short weeks, it's time to turn my thoughts into the year ahead. It's time to prepare for the students still at home. ποΈ
I am so thankful for for providing an amazing curriculum, alongside a community filled with experience and loving support.

It's a big day for this gal!
This journey began in February of 2023, on a spring break visit. When we arrived on campus, Rachel's first words were ... βIt's charming!β
After prayer and careful consideration, Rachel will be making her home on the Hill, at Western Kentucky University, where the spirit makes the master. β€οΈπ€

If you're a mom who has a child who struggles with reading, listen up.
I know how hard it is to find time to work with your child with reading practice. It's exhausting to keep encouraging them when they stumble.
It's easy to want to give up.
I found a solution that's lightening my load, and I think it will work for you, too.
BuddyBooks has been an amazing addition to our homeschool daily work, I can't wait to tell you all about it!

How about sharing some homeschooling hacks? Some ways to make our jobs as homeschooling moms easier and more effective?
I've been trying to hand some of our homeschooling off to my husband, but I had to figure out a system that made sense for him. I keep most of my homeschooling plans in my head --- which is just fine for me most days, but he can't read my mind.
We've been using BookShark Virtual alongside our BookShark Science Level C and it's working beautifully. It's so easy for Brett to pick up and go, with the lesson plans contained right in the online management system. βοΈ
As the kids get older, I can totally see them using this to help hone executive functioning skills and take ownership of assignments.
How do you keep track of all the moving parts in your homeschool?

Ok mommas --- let's talk about college planning. π±
We're on a slow on-ramp over here, because ---- so many irons in the fire, right?
What's important to you, as a homeschool mom?
Small classes? π
Distance from home?
Specific majors?
Urban vs rural location? βοΈ
I'm starting to make my college list over here and found Thiel College. It's VERY homeschool friendly, with over 60 majors and 100+ clubs, activities and organizations. (they also offer an equine minor, which is important in our family) Plus, there's a brand new accelerated Bachelors/Masters pathway - woot, woot!
Let's chat in the comments about college planning and research. I'd love to hear your best tips!

This cute fellow is so excited that his mom finally agreed to formal science lessons. π
I didn't think science was entirely necessary in the early years, but this guy is obsessed with all things science. π¬ππ§«π§¬
We are LOVING our BookShark Science Level C, that teaches science through read alouds and plenty of hands on experiments.
Click over and read all about it.
