This talk will dive (hee hee) into the world of orcas, cover some surprising facts 🤯, and explore what science has discovered about these animals and what it might just teach us about community 🤝 and connection ❤️.
***Meet Katie Litanga***
Katie is a nonprofit executive 💼, anthropology nerd 📚, and unapologetic orca enthusiast 🐳 with a longstanding fascination with how culture, connection, and community show up in both people 👥 and the natural world 🌍. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at Jewish Family and Career Services 🙌 and has worked in nonprofits for nearly 20 years, including in refugee resettlement 🌏, where she developed a deep appreciation for how people build belonging across cultures 🌈. Her love of orcas connects to the same questions that drive her work in human services, including how communities care for one another 🤗, communicate 💬, and pass knowledge across generations 📖. Outside of work, she can usually be found hiking ⛰️, stargazing ✨, taking photos 📸, spending time with her family 👨👩👧👦, or doing just about anything involving animals 🐾.
