Exciting News for Our Kayfield Family!
Recently, while driving, we came across an injured Cooper’s Hawk, and with the help of Raptor Rehab of Louisville, we’re thrilled to announce that Kayfield is sponsoring its full rehabilitation! Meet Kay the Broadwing Hawk, our new symbol of resilience and strength.
As some of you may know, Melissa and I have been longtime supporters of Raptor Rehab of Kentucky, and we’re incredibly excited that our Kayfield community—from students to parents—can now be part of this meaningful journey in helping Kentucky's wildlife. It’s a wonderful opportunity to teach our children the importance of caring for the world around them.
In the coming months, Raptor Rehab will be visiting all of our schools to introduce these amazing birds of prey up close. They’ll educate our preschoolers and families about the vital role these magnificent creatures play in our ecosystem. This experience aligns perfectly with our STREAM curriculum, adding another layer of real-world learning for your little ones!
We can’t wait to share this unforgettable experience with you and your children. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the event!

In light of these challenges, we are pleased to inform you that Kayfield Academy will not be raising tuition fees for the remainder of 2024. This decision reflects our commitment to supporting our community and ensuring that our students continue to receive the excellent education they deserve without additional financial strain on their families.

Kayfield Academy Early Education Centers are the Best! Kayfield Academy sets the standard for preschool and early childhood education programs in Kentucky (a CCAP partner).

This past week marked the solemn anniversary of my mother's passing, the driving force behind Kayfield Academy. From my earliest memories, I think back to being by her side, a willing helper in her early educational journey. Now, alongside my wife, we continue her legacy with unwavering determination and resilience.
The passage of time is a curious thing, at times feeling like just yesterday, yet simultaneously like a distant memory. The ache of her absence remains palpable, each quiet moment filled with memories that evoke both sorrow and strength. Yet, within this pain lies a profound bond, a testament to the depth of our connection.
I find solace in reminiscing about our shared journeys through Michigan's back-roads, our conversations brimming with her fervent passion for children's education. Kayfield Academy was more than just a dream to her; it was a lifelong pursuit, one that we proudly carry forward in her honor.
Despite the passage of years, the memory of her remarkable resilience and unwavering dedication to children's well being lives on within us. My wife Melissa and I are steadfast in our commitment to upholding her legacy, nurturing a culture at Kayfield Academy that mirrors her values. That is our culture, that is our ethos.
In the face of adversity, from the challenges posed by the pandemic to the toll of time on our staff, we remain resolute. As we celebrate our 25th year, I draw strength from the knowledge that my mother's spirit continues to guide us, offering wisdom and fortitude when we need it most. We see her spirit also in all our staff, our directors and in the light in each child’s eye.
Just this week, I had the privilege of speaking with a family whose children have flourished under the care of Kayfield Academy. Their heartfelt words of gratitude reaffirmed the importance of our mission – to provide a nurturing environment where trust and open communication thrive.
Our friends at the Louisville Mom’s Collective were kind to write a lovely article speaking with a number of our long-time staff. It is a wonderful testament to my mother celebrating her life and the impact that Kayfield has had on so many in the Louisville community.
As we reflect on this milestone, I am filled with gratitude for the enduring impact of my mother's vision. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit lives on, inspiring us to press forward with determination and compassion. Together, we honor her legacy and continue to shape young lives for generations to come.
