Summer camp fun at Sacred Heart!
This week, Sacred Heart campers sharpened their skills, made new friends, and had FUN at our lacrosse, soccer, and archery athletic camps. We LOVED meeting everyone and having all of the campers and Future Valkyries on our beautiful Ursuline Campus. A big THANK YOU to our amazing coaches - Kay Morissette, Shaun Francis, and Gary Barmore - and to our SHA athletes for making these camps possible.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our future camps this summer! Meet the coaches and players at Kentucky's #1 Best All-Girls High School for Athletes.

We are honored to receive the Youth in Philanthropy Award from Gilda's Club Kentuckiana! Principal Leah Huber accepted the award on behalf of SHMS at a recent Gilda's Club Volunteer Appreciation event, in recognition of our partnership with the organization for the Level 8 Community Project and our Stewardship Program.
Here's what Gilda's Club staff said about the meaningful impact our students have made while working with the organization over the years:
"Over the past 3 years, Gildaโs Club has been one of the community nonprofits that SHMS students select for their 8th grade project โ incredible projects! Building a life size, working Skee-Ball machine for NoogieFest, having a friendship bracelet-making class with Camp Gilda campers, making bracelets for kids at Norton Childrenโs Hospital; weโve had students lead art classes, run a bake sale and cake walk, and lead a cupcake making class after brunch. We are so grateful for this continued partnership and have loved seeing these students getting the chance to work directly with other kids the same age, who are experiencing cancer in some way."
It's our privilege to partner with and support such an incredible organization in our community.

"Throughout the month of May, we celebrated the many gifts of our students and the ways they are answering Godโs call. In classrooms, on stages, on athletic fields, and during graduation ceremonies, we recognized students who are growing into leaders ready to build community wherever they go. Congratulations to all of our students on a successful 2025โ2026 school year!" ---Dr. Karen McNay

This year, SHMS proudly launched its first Leadership Certificate in partnership with the Jean Frazier Leadership Institute (JFLI). This Leadership Certificate recognizes our Level 8 students who embody leadership grounded in empathy, integrity, initiative, and service, reflecting our Ursuline Core Values.
This inaugural class wore gold tassels at graduation and received their certificate at the L8 Awards Ceremony. To earn this certificate, students completed approved experiences from our Leadership Activity Menu. Each experience required them to take on authentic leadership responsibility, develop key leadership skills, and reflect thoughtfully on their learning and personal growth. Congratulations to these new Model School graduates for making a meaningful impact within the Sacred Heart community and beyond!
